The tasks of this group comprise the type approval test and verification regulated by Measurement Law, the inspection of standard used for verification, and development of technical requirements with regard to legal metrology. In addition, we are involved with various legal metrology task such as comparative inspection, calibration service, dispatch a lecturer of measurement training and various meeting.

1. type approval test
   This group performs type approval test such as Thermometers, Aneroid pressure gauges, Aneroid sphygmomanometers, Taximeters.

2. Verification Standard
   This group performs the inspection of standard instruments for verification such as Thermometers, Density meters, Pressure gauges.

3. Technical requirements of measuring instruments
   This group carried out making the technical requirement of measuring instruments, investigating, proposing to the several committees and establishing/revising JIS domestically.
   We also participate in OIML TC/SC internationally.

4. Corporation with METI
   This group Corporate with METI for development of measurement law, establishment of technical requirements.

5. Contribution to the measurement field
   This group contribution to the measurement field and local government through dispatching our lecturer on legal metrology.
