研究概要

細胞の利活用に向けた精密制御技術へのニーズがにわかに高まっています。また、生体機能を司るバイオ分子である糖タンパクの構造や働きを理解し、最適な構造を有する分子の効率的な生産が求められています。
私たちは、機能性分子技術を駆使してこうしたバイオ分野の課題解決を目指し、意のままに細胞を操作する、糖タンパクを生産・機能化・分析するための要素技術を数多く確立、その応用・実用化の研究を進めています。

研究課題

研究課題1:人工材料で細胞・組織を操る技術
研究担当者:須丸公雄・寺村裕治・高木俊之・佐野将之・吉原栄理佳

機能性ポリマーを用いて培養細胞を思いのままに配列・選別・デザインする技術、持続発現型RNAベクターを用いて細胞のリプログラミング・機能発現解析を行う技術、細胞の機能化への展開が期待されるフッ素化脂質を開発しました。

研究課題2:糖タンパクを製造・分析する技術

巨大糖タンパクであるムチンの精密分析を可能にする新しい膜電気泳動法を開発しました。さらに特別な酵母や細胞を作製、これらを用いて有用な糖タンパク質を生産する技術を開発しました。

研究課題3:Sub-THz波を用いた水・生体分子系の解析・改質
研究担当者:今清水正彦

水・生体分子系が生み出す分子機能には、生体分子の水和による水運動の不均一化や遅い緩和過程が関係します。生体分子水和の観測・制御に基づいて、バイオを含む多分野に広く波及する技術を開発しています。その制御には、6G向け電波として注目されているsub-THz波が利用できることを明らかにしてきました。
