Energy-efficient Chemical Systems Group

Our target is to design highly energy-efficient chemical processes with low carbon emission. To achieve this, our group focuses on developing new materials/devices related to adsorption/membrane separations and on performing process simulation using the experimental data from the separation devices.

Main Research Subjects

1. New materials and devices for smart chemical syntheses

Our research interests are to develop inorganic membranes and ordered porous materials and to create efficient separation processes. We fabricate separation devices using our newly developed materials which show excellent separation performances and chemical resistance.




2. Design chemical processes with low CO2 emission

We perform process simulation using the experimental data obtained with our separation devices. The process simulation is combined with the assessment of CO2 emission based on life cycle assessment (LCA) to minimize CO2 emission in these separation processes.
