Nanopore Design Group
Aiming to drive chemical process innovation, the Nanopore Design Group research precise synthesis and structure determination technologies of inorganic materials having nano-size spaces. We successfully investigate sensor devices and zeolite membranes based on these technologies.
Main Research Subjects
1. Zeolite membrane for energy-saving separation
We successfully investigate zeolite membranes for energy saving separation of water, alcohols, and carbon dioxide by forming the polycrystalline layer of zeolites with thermal and chemical stabilities.

2. Sensor devices using nano-sized test tubes
We investigate nano-size carbon test tube and apply it to sensor devices by dispersing single molecule, such as enzyme and proteins, into the tube for medical application.

3. Multi-probe structure analysis
We research precise structure determination technologies of microporous materials. By the combination of X-ray diffraction (XRD), electron microscope (STEM) and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), we have succeeded in determining the structure of new zeolites.
