Research Teams
Advanced Materials Research Team
Team Leader:Shunsuke SAKURAI
The Advanced Materials Research Team focuses on the R&D of preparation technology of nanomaterials applied in a wide range of applications from nanodevices to composite materials.
Nano-Device Team
Team Leader:Takahiro MORIMOTO
Aiming to the application of carbon nanotubes (CNTs), the Nano-Device Team
is developing NRAM (Nanotube Random Access Memory) devices, which are memory
devices based on CNTs, and high-performance energy storage devices using
CNT films as a component. Through these efforts, we aim for application
development of CNT-based devices.
Two-Dimensional Materials Nano-Device Team
Team Leader:Takatoshi YAMADA
2D material nanodevice team aims developments defect-free/functional transfer processes and doping techniques toward electronic and optics devices of 2D nano material such as graphene and transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs).
Functional Materials Design Team
Team Leader:Naoyuki MATSUMOTO
The Functional Materials Design Team will further deepen the process and composite technologies of nanocarbons, including carbon nanotubes developed by the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST), and jointly develop applications for rubber, resin, metal composite materials, green energy device components, etc. that are useful for well-being in our society in cooperation with companies, aiming to promote the CNT industry in Japan. We also develop new seeds by fusing with other functional materials.
Chemical Characterization Team
Team Leader:Kazufumi KOBASHI
The Chemical Characterization Team is developing various characterization methods of nanocarbons for their applications. For instance, the characteristics of various carbon nanotubes (CNTs), the CNT dispersion state in dispersion liquids and composite materials, and AI technology for nanocarbon materials have been studied.
