We at Length Standards Section express deep condolences to those victimized by off the Pacific coast of Tohoku Earthquake. We hope for the fast recovery of the affected area.

Worldwide sympathy from our friends is most sincerely appreciated.


Facilities and equipments of NMIJ were restored. The air conditioning system of laboratories was also restored.

However, part of calibration services and research activities have been halted because of relocation of laboratories as part of reconstruction of activities at AIST. We appreciate your cooperation.

We are going to recover the contribution to the industry via the calibration services, research activities, and industry-academia-government collaborations.
