Situation of recovery as of May 31, 2011
We at length standards section express deep condolences to those victimized by off the Pacific coast of Tohoku Earthquake. We hope for the fast recovery of the affected area.
Worldwide sympathy from our friends is most sincerely appreciated.
Some facilities and equipments were damaged, therefore part of calibration services and research activities have been halted. The recovery efforts are the most urgent task. We appreciate your cooperation. We are going to recover the contribution to the industry via the calibration services, research activities, and industry-academia-government collaborations.
The situation of recovery as of May 31, 2011 is described below.
Situation of recovery
- We resumed calibration services of gauge blocks and step height on May 31, 2011.
- Calibration services of electronic distance meters and laser interferometers were resumed on Apr. 7, 2011.
- Gas supply and water supply for experiments are still out of service. Air conditioning systems of experimental rooms are operated in a limited way. We continue efforts towards recovery of calibration services.
- Recovery efforts of research activities will be started after that of calibration services.
