Welcome to Mineral Resources Research Group

Our civilized life has been built upon the use of various mineral resources of the earth. For example, parts of automobile, aircrafts and electronic devices are consist of not only common metals such as iron, aluminum, copper, zinc but also minor or "critical" metals such as nickel and titanium. For the construction of buildings and roads, industrial minerals such as limestone, silica stone/sand and rock aggregate are important raw materials for glass and cement.

The above mentioned raw materials have been utilized in the form of minerals laid in subsurface. The subsurface resources which composed of valuable minerals are called "mineral resources", and the parts of specific mineral and element that are concentrated are called "mineral deposits". The place to find minerals is at mine, a location wherein rocks, minerals and ores are extracted from the earth. The Mineral Resources Research Group has been conducting researches on mineral resources.
