Chairman's Message
Adhesion and Interfacial Phenomena Research Laboratory (AIRL) has been established at AIST to respond to various needs and issues of national projects and companies, including multi-institutional collaborations (Adhesive Bonding Collaborative Research Unit (ABC-U)).
As the Consortium enters its seventh year of existence, it has developed not only structural bonding technology for automobiles and aircraft, on which it has focused its research and development efforts, but also a wide range of other areas such as electronics, infrastructure, precision bonding, digital transformation (DX), and international standardization.
Under these circumstances, this year we will establish a working group on resource recycling to discuss issues, especially taking into consideration SDGs, carbon neutrality, and circular economy, which are of great interest to our members. In addition, through various workshops, tours, symposiums, etc., we hope to build alliances and develop technologies.
