1. Maintenance and Improvement of Particle Standards
We maintain the physical standards (particle size, particle mass, and number concentration of air-borne and liquid-borne particles) and reference materials (polystyrene, polyethylene glycol, polyethylene glycol nonylphenyl ether, polystyrene latex nanoparticles, and titanium oxide nanoparticles) and work on expanding the range of calibration and reducing measurement uncertainties.
2. Development of New Particle Standards
We work on the development of new standards such as particle size distribution, generator-type particle number concentration, static light scattering reference materials, and nanoparticle size reference materials.
3. Standardization in ISO and JIS concerning Particle Measurements
We participate in the international standardization activities in ISO/TC 24/SC 4, ISO/TC 229, etc.
4. Development of Advanced Measurement Technology
We develop new measurement and calibration technology for future particle standards and nanoparticle characterization.
