Chromatography

GC and LC techniques to evaluate purities and concentrations for organic compounds are researched in our group. Resently, conbination methods of qNMR and GC (qNMR/GC) or qNMR and LC (qNMR/LC) to evaluate SI traceable concentraions of standard solutions are being developed.

Development of qNMR/GC and qNMR/LC techniques for evaluating the concentration of each components in mixed standard solutions

Our research group has developed a technique to evaluate the concentration of organic compounds in a sample solution without using their respective reference standards. We have established a reliable analytical method by combining 1H NMR and chromatography (GC or LC). With this method, the relative molar sensitivity for analytes can be calculated from the molar ratio between analyte and the reference material obtained by 1H NMR; and the response ratio between them obtained by chromatography. We are developing methods to directly measure the concentration of components in a mixed solution based on just one appropriate reference material using qNMR/GC and qNMR/LC.

Development of techniques for evaluating the purity and concentration of organic compounds by post-column reaction GC

Our research group is developing a technique to evaluate the purity and concentration of organic compounds in a sample solution without their respective standards. Post-column reaction GC system converts the analytes' carbons to methane via catalysts, and can more strictly reflect the number of carbons than conventional FID. We are developing a method to directly characterize concentrations of components in mixed solutions based on just one or a few appropriate reference material using post-column reaction GC.

Establishment of preparation and evaluation methods for mixed amino acid standard solutions

We have developed preparation and evaluation methods to promote the use of highly reliable mixed standard solutions as a traceability source of high-purity amino acid certified reference materials (CRMs from Biomedical Reference Standard Research Group, calibration service by our research group) supplied by our laboratory. In particular, we are working on the establishment of reliable preparation and evaluation methods for mixed standard solutions by setting handling conditions that take into account the physical properties of each amino acid and by carefully examining the uncertainty factors in the preparation of standard solutions.

Establishment of purity determination protocols for organic compounds

Putiry determination techniques using GC and LC for organic compound are being developed. Especially, qualification and quantification of impurities in high purity organic materials are estabished, and these techniques are being refined to improve reliability. In addition, simple purity determination methods, and techniques for evaluate homogeneity and stability are also researched.
