"Development of bio-based functional chemicals and materials"

We are developing the bio-based functional chemicals and mateials with renewable resources. The aims of our researches are practical process for production of bio-based chemicals based on our techniques, "screening for the new microorganisms", "genetic engineering of microorganisms" and "mass production by improving fermentation processes". In addition, we are promoting comprehensive development of the bio-based materials by analysis of structure-function relationships", "evaluation of physical properties and addition of functions" and "analytical technology of materials".

1. Development of bio-based chemicals and materials by BIO & CHEMICAL technology

To develop the new bio-based functional chemicals and materials by utilizing the characteristics of bio-resources and microorganisms, we are studing improvement of microorganisms by screening, genetic engineering, structur-function analysis. Our main study is biosurfactant (BS), and we are currently working on the new functional materials.

 

2. Applications for functional bio-based materials

Developing materials that take advantage of the characteristics of bio-based chemicals by evaluating their physical properties and functions. We are working on development to expand various functions of the materials such as biosurfactants and bioplastics to a wide range of industrial fields, including beauty, healthcare, sports, food, agriculture, and biotechnology.
