Reducing greenhouse gas emissions is an urgent issue, and the development of highly efficient energy conversion methods that are not bound by conventional concepts is being promoted around the world to solve this problem.

The development of technologies for large-scale introduction of renewable energy is one of the most important examples. In Japan, where energy resources are scarce, the securing of new energy resources and innovative technologies for resource utilization are also required at the same time from the viewpoint of energy security.

In order to solve these issues, the Energy Process Research Institute promotes the development of unconventional methane hydrate resources and effective resource utilization technologies that contribute to the realization of carbon neutrality, thereby supporting the creation of new industries.
