The 40th Japan-Korea Cooperation Committee for Legal Metrology

The NMIJ hosted the 40th Japan-Korea Cooperation Committee for Legal Metrology at Hotel Marroad Karuizawa, Nagano, Japan, on 3rd September. The 20 representatives of the six institutes, i.e., NMIJ, METI(Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry) and JEMIC(Japan Electric Meters Inspection Corporation) from Japan, and KATS(The Korean Agency for Technology and Standards), KTC(Korea Testing Certification) and KASTO(Korea Association of Standards and Testing Organizations) from Korea, exchanged information and opinions concerning the legal metrology. It was agreed to establish a new sub-committee for smart metering especially focusing on legal metrology, as the new package "Considerations for smart metering in terms of legal metrology", in accordance with the MoU.
