Asia Pacific Legal Metrology Forum
Asia-Pacific Legal Metrology Forum (APLMF) was established in Australia in November 1994. Currently APLMF consists of 23 full and corresponding economies. As one of the Regional Legal Metrology Organizations (RLMOs) working in close liaison with the OIML, the APLMF promotes communication and interaction among the legal metrology organizations and seeks harmonization in the legal metrology systems in the Asia-Pacific region.
In January 2002, Japan succeeded the Presidency and Secretariat from Australia and carried the responsibility until October 2007. In 2021,NMIM (National Metrology Institute of Malaysia) is responsible for the Presidency and Secretariat. From 2001 to 2017, NMIJ also chaired the WG on Quality Measurement of Agricultural Products. Starting in 2021, Japan is in charge of the training coordinator within the APLMF Secretariat for coordinating all training activities.
