Research Groups
Nanomaterials Design Group
Group LeaderFNaoyuki MATSUMOTO
The Nano Materials Design Research Group advances technologies for processing and integrating nanocarbons, including carbon nanotubes (CNTs), building on AISTfs extensive expertise. By incorporating cutting-edge tools such as multimodal AI and autonomous experimentation, we actively pursue new materials and process development. Through collaboration with academia, industry, and research institutions, we aim to create innovative materials and promote technologies that support carbon neutrality and a circular economy, contributing to the resolution of social challenges and the realization of a sustainable society.
Nanochemistry Reseach Group
Group LeaderFShunsuke SAKURAI
The Nano Chemistry Research Group conducts research on chemical processes and the development of functional materials and devices based on nanomaterials?particularly carbon nanotubes, graphene, and other two-dimensional materials?as well as their practical implementation in society.
Nano-Device and Characterization Reseach Group
Group LeaderFTakahiro MORIMOTO
The Nano-Device and Characterization Research Group combines device, process, and characterization technologies developed through over 20 years of nanocarbon research. We focus on creating CNT-based energy storage devices, memory elements, material-AI devices, and functional components, while developing methods to quantify and visualize key properties and process factors. Through joint research and technical consulting, we actively support the practical use of nanocarbon materials in society.
