Exploration Geophysics Research Group

We develop geophysical exploration and imaging technologies to better understand the Earth's subsurface and to contibute to a more resilient society. Our research spans from designing new exploration principles and data acquisition systems to studying the physical properties of rocks and soils through experiments, data analysis, and numerical simulations.

We apply these technologies to a wide range of engineering and societal challenges, from resource exploration and geological assessment for critical facilities to the maintenance and management of lifeline infrasctucture such as pipelines and levees, in collaboration with AIST's Integrated Research Center for Resilient Infrastructure (IRCI)
