Currently, the development of science and technology enables us to acquire big-data in the field of life science. There is valuable information from biological sequence data, which is exponentially on the increase after the emergence of next-generation sequencing. This growth is also mirrored in omics data on the RNA, DNA and protein levels, such as cell-by-cell, organism-by-organism and group-by-group, and in highly personalized various and massive data about an individual’s life and biological information collected through IoT wearable devices, and they pose difficult analytical challenges. Furthermore, the analysis of big data at the levels of cell, tissue and organism is expected in applications of a wide range of economic relevance including pharmaceutical medicine, food production or chemical products.
In this highly competitive life science industry, we have an urgent need to develop most appropriate technologies for information analysis that are capable of swiftly producing accurate results to make effective use of such data. CBBD-OIL launched a forum, where we serve as a “bridge” between researchers and private sectors to promote practical use by collecting and reflecting the needs of private companies.
At this forum, in addition to information sharing and closed result briefings, we provide participating companies with technology consulting on research issues through open laboratory and delegated researchers with technology guidance.
We will search for the best matches and conduct collaborative research proactively based on non-disclosure agreement such as NDA, if necessary.
