Background of ALlab establishment

　Toyota Industries Corporation (TICO), a top manufacturer of industrial equipment and integrated logistics systems, and AIST inaugurated "TICO-AIST Cooperative Research Laboratory for Advanced Logistics (ALlab)".
TICO has the capability for developing a variety of high-quality, high-performance and eco-friendly products. AIST has advanced technologies in robotics, AI, and data analytics. By combining those technologies, we will accelerate development of intelligent industrial vehicles and realize advanced logistics solutions.

We are going to research as follows;

1. Researches for advanced logistics solutions by using AI and data analytics technology
2. Researches for autonomous industrial vehicles and instruments by using robotics and computer vision technology
3. Researches for service propositions by using service engineering

　To develop advanced logistics in near-future, ALlab aims at building up new business model for smart logistics solutions by combining advanced technologies in robotics and data analytics of AIST, and technology and data of industrial vehicles provided by Toyota Material Handling Group which is a division of Toyota Industries Corporation.
