Improving productivity and fostering professional human resources have become urgent challenges in response to population decline and an aging society. IRCAM aims to establish manufacturing hubs as a common infrastructure unique to Japan, while promoting collaboration with private companies that support the concept of manufacturing hubs through industry-academia-government cooperation. To achieve this goal, IRCAM utilizes AI technologies, digital transformation (DX) technologies, and robotic technologies, while promoting the integration and standardization of robot command systems and programming languages through open middleware. IRCAM further advances research on next-generation manufacturing systems by integrating robots, machine tools, AI, and digital twins.
