Overview of Group

We are a research group of remote sensing for monitoring the Earth environment, mineral and energy resource explorations, and the disaster prevention.
(This group was organized in April 2015.)

Research

AIST developed several satellite sensors including JERS-1 OPS and SAR, ASTER, PARSAR, and HISUI and is currently developing satellite sensors for next generation. The remote sensing application researches are also conducted for contributing to studies regarding the Earth environment, resource exploration and natural disaster by combining remote sensing images with geological data available at our organization. We have three missions on the remote sensing research:

■ Development of data archive and distribution systems for satellite data
■ Calibration and validation of satellite data and its standardization
■ Application studies of remote sensing

ASTER Documents

General information on ASTER and related documents (User's guide, ATBD, etc.) are available here.
