Numerical Modeling & Simulation
Through numerical modeling and simulations on geophysical responses, we are working to elucidate and predict the phenomena, and to develop methods to detect them based on various conditional control that are difficult to achieve through nature observations or experiments. The scope of our modeling and simulations covers subsurface fluid behavior, electromagnetic responses, gravity modeling, muon flux, and seismic wave propagation, among others.
Furthermore, we develop programs that convert simulated subsurface fluid behavior along with associated changes in properties such as pressure, temperature, and saturation into observable geophysical quantities. This enables us to evaluate the applicability and optimal configuration/combination of various geophysical methods for the project including geothermal development and CO₂ geological storage.
