RECO

IntroductionRemanufacturing Promotion Consortium (RECO)

The Remanufacturing Promotion Consortium (RECO) was established in October 2024 to promote collaboration among industry, academia, and government in advancing remanufacturing in Japan. The consortium aims to foster shared knowledge, drive technological innovation, and support the development of business models, standards, and policies essential for realizing a Circular Economy (CE). As the transition toward CE and Carbon Neutrality becomes increasingly vital for achieving a sustainable society, remanufacturing plays a key role in resource conservation and enhancing manufacturing competitiveness. In line with international trends, RECO serves as a national platform to strengthen cooperation and accelerate the advancement and widespread adoption of remanufacturing in Japan.
