Abstract
Benzene is a volatile aromatic hydrocarbon which is a commodity chemicals used primarily in the production of plastics and petrochemical products such as solvents and gasoline in chemical industries. It is known as a human carcinogen. Exposure assessment of benzene has been carried out in Japan, taking into account the spatial distribution of the concentration and the exposed population by using two different types of models we have developed. In this work we present the results of regional exposure assessment.
