Abstract
Model estimation of ambient concentration of benzene has been performed for ten industrial areas. Based on the emission amounts reported to the PRTR system and the meteorological data by the AMeDAS, annual average distributions have been obtained using the METI-LIS model. The scatter diagram of the result of the simulation vs. the measured data from 32 monitoring stations in the 10 modeled areas shows that the factor of coincidence ranges roughly within 2. As a total evaluation, the emission data and the assumed emission conditions appeared to be of reasonable accuracy.
