Human resource development
In the development of young human resources based on AIST’s idea of full-scale research, it is important to acquire 4 elements: deep technical skills, the ability to look at things in the context of other related fields, a strong desire to contribute to industrial technologies and methodologies to do so, and an international character. In August 2010, demonstration experiments were conducted on optical network technologies that offer ultra-low energy consumption in collaboration with the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT) and NHK Science & Technology Research Laboratories. As a result of these experiments, the partner companies and research institutes involved now fully realize the necessity of these four elements. This center aims to allow researchers to acquire these 4 elements in a balanced manner as well as make positive use of the AIST’s human resource development program as a place for gaining experience that fosters leadership.
