The conference excursion is scheduled in the afternoon on Nov. 16th (Wed.). The excursion will be started from workshop site at 1 PM, taking you to Tokyo Skytree Town® (http://www.tokyo-skytreetown.jp/english/) by a one-way bus.

Tokyo Skytree Town consists of the world’s highest stand-alone communication tower, and a large shopping mall named Tokyo Solamachi®, which has many fascinating shops, restaurants, aquarium, and planetarium.
The return trip to Tsukuba isn’t included in excursion fee and is up to you. Alternatively, you can enjoy your own times as much as you want. It is not so difficult to get back to Tsukuba station from Tokyo area.
At Tokyo Solamachi®, the staffs will briefly explain about the way to Tsukuba.

Ordinarily, you can enjoy the birds-eye view of the expanding Tokyo from the top of the Tokyo Skytree and shopping at Tokyo Solamachi® as much as you like.

After visiting Tokyo Skytree and Solamachi, you can take a trip to the downtown of Tokyo called “shitamachi”; "Asakusa" and "Ueno", via Skytree Shuttle® bus (Ueno・Asakusa line).

In the area where you can go by the above shuttle bus, there are many famous attractive sightseeing spots.
For example:
Kaminarimon, Kappabashi Dougu Street, Ueno park

And,“Akihabara”, where is located 4 minutes away from Ueno station by “yamanote line”, was famous for electronic goods. Nowadays, it is a nice place to visit for Geeks of Japanese pop culture (animations, comics, and idols including maid cafes).

The excursion fee is costed 4,000 Yen/person including one-way bus from AIST campus to Tokyo Skytree, entrance fee of Tokyo Skytree, and a lunch box. You can pay for it at the registration desk on-site. If you want to join the excursion, please contact us by e-mail.
