Field Robotics Research Group

There are growing demands for work, mobile assistance system and autonomous system in outdoor human activities such as heavy physical labor, hazardous work and transportation of people and goods. The Field Robotics Research Group aims at realizing such robotics systems which contributes to "disaster response", "maintenance and improvement of society infrastructure", and "resources exploitation" through technologies of advanced control, environment recognition, navigation, human machine interface and teleoperation. Current topics of R&D include mobile inspection robot, automated scooping for wheel loader, aerial robot, mobility robot, autonomous and assistance system for ITS (Intelligent Transport Systems) and Robotics.
