| 研究内容または業務内容 |
The hired research assistant would have the opportunity to assist in research on various fundamental and applied aspects around combinatorial optimization and machine learning.
Some possible research directions are the characterization of landscape properties for combinatorial optimization problems, the design and the implementation of new stochastic local search algorithms, or the mixing of combinatorial optimization and machine learning techniques to learn interpretable functions.
Some of these research directions can be applied to Game AI problems, both on commercial and research-purpose games. |

We are looking for a wide range of university students and others who are interested in fields related to this research theme. Master's and doctoral degree holders and prospective holders are also welcome.
Good communication skills in English are necessary for this research assistant position. |

勤務時間は応相談。週1～可。 例）週5日、1日7時間45分、休憩1時間。（休憩12:15-13:15） 残業、休日出勤の可能性あり。 / Working hours are negotiable. Available from once per week. Example: 5 days a week, 7 hours 45 minutes a day, 1 hour break. (Break: 12:15-13:15) Overtime and holiday work may be required. |

Paid vacation system, commuting allowance system, and social security system available according to AIST's regulations *
*If you are employed for at least 29 hours and 15 minutes per week [5 days per week] or 23 hours and 15 minutes per week [4 days per week] for a period of at least 2 months
*If you do not meet the above, you will be enrolled if you meet the following conditions, which were expanded in October 2016. (1) 20 hours or more per week, (2) expected to be employed for at least one year, (3) monthly salary of 88,000 yen or more, and (4) not a daytime student.
