Presenting the Laboratory-Developed CE Indicator CVP at the WBCSD Global Circularity Protocol In-Person Workshop.

An invitation-only workshop organized by volunteer companies to promote the dissemination and improvement of the Global Circularity Protocol (GCP)—published last year by the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD)—was held in Montreux, Switzerland. From our laboratory, Osamu Hoshino and Takahiro Kihara participated in the workshop and presented Circular Value Productivity (CVP), a metric developed by our laboratory. In the presentation, they raised the issue that no real-world transformation can occur without an economically viable pathway for the circular economy (CE) transition, and introduced CVP as a CE indicator that explicitly incorporates economic efficiency.
