We participated in the cross-disciplinary theme
'The Role of Mechanical Engineering in Realizing a Circular Economy'
at the 2025 Annual Meeting of the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers.

We attended the Annual Meeting of the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers held at Hokkaido University. As part of the cross-disciplinary theme 'The Role of Mechanical Engineering in Realizing a Circular Economy,' Deputy Lab Director Masui gave a presentation titled 'Promoting the Circular Economy through Industry-Academia-Government Collaboration,' introducing our lab's initiatives. Other presentations included 'Low-Cost Bio-Coke Production Technology Using Buckwheat Husks' by Air Water Hokkaido, and 'The Role of Waste Incineration Facilities in the Circular Economy' by Takuma Corporation. Following these talks, a general discussion was held, focusing on topics such as the appropriate scale of resource circulation loops and information sharing between upstream and downstream sectors.
