Photo-Control of Surface Polarity Based on Polypeptide Grafted Polysoap
Masahiro Higuchi
NIMC

We prepared a photo-responsive polypeptide grafted polysoap which consisted of hydrophilic poly(L-glutamic acid)s containing pararosaniline groups in the side chains and hydrophobic palmitoyl side chains on a vinyl polymer main chain. The polysoap formed micelle in an aqueous solution. The polypeptide chains on the micelle surface showed pH and photoinduced structural changes. The structural changes of the polypeptide resulted in the surface polarity changes of the micelle.
