Photoaddition of alcohols and amines to diphenyl chromene

On irradiaton of diphenylchromene gave ring-opened colored forms, to which alcohols and amines added to afford ethers and amines, respectively. The addition rate of amines was faster than that of alcohols. The amine adducts were stable, but slowly reverted to the original chromene.
