Recent global environment requires urgent progress and development
of high performance solar cells as a clean energy source. At present,
silicon is the most applicable solar cell material but semiconducting
alternatives with high capability via low cost processing have been
sought for coming into wide use. However, almost all are composed
of poisonous, rare, and expensive elements. We propose here new
alternative candidates, such as SnS, Sn2OS, CuInS2, and Cu2O thin
films formed by a spray pyrolysis deposition (SPD), that are assumed
to overcome these problems.
