We have investigated excitation energy transfer(EET) in the antenna system
of photosynthetic bacteria. The antenna system consists of complexes where
chromophores aggregate. And in the complexes, exciton levels are formed.
We proposed a new formula to elucidate the mechanism of the EET between
these aggregates of chromophores. When the distance between the aggregates is
smaller than their sizes, EET occurs through optical forbidden states.
Using Green's function method, the EET rate between antenna complexes is
estimated.
