| 研究内容または業務内容 |
The Artificial Intelligence Research Center (AIRC) at the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) is a government-affiliated research institute committed to advancing next-generation artificial intelligence. We focus on foundational and applied AI research with real-world impact.
The Agentic AI Research Team (AART) is seeking outstanding postdoctoral researchers specializing in multimodal AI (e.g., vision, language, and structured data) and conversational systems. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of multimodal AI systems and evaluation frameworks to ensure safe, reliable, and human-aligned interaction.
Key Research Areas:
・ Human-centric AI and responsible design
・ Dialogue modeling and interactive agents
・ Human-robot collaboration
・ Multimodal learning from images, videos, text, and graphs
・ Mitigating hallucination in large language models (LLMs)
・ Knowledge graphs for reasoning and retrieval
・ Natural language understanding and generation
Key Responsibilities and Focus Areas:
・ Develop intelligent systems capable of interacting with humans through multiple modalities
・ Design frameworks to evaluate safety, trustworthiness, and alignment of AI outputs with human user intentions
・ Investigate and mitigate hallucination, misinformation, or bias in LLM-generated responses
・ Leverage structured knowledge (e.g., graphs) and symbolic reasoning to enhance model robustness and interpretability
・ Collaborate with interdisciplinary researchers to build agents for real-world applications
・ Contribute to publications in top-tier AI/ML/NLP conferences and journals
産業技術総合研究所 （AIST）の人工知能研究センター（AIRC）は、次世代人工知能の発展を目的とした、政府系の研究機関です。AIRCでは、基礎から応用に至るまで、実世界でのインパクトを重視したAI研究を推進しています。
エージェントAI研究チーム（AART）では、マルチモーダルAI（例：画像、言語、構造化データ）および対話システムに専門性を持つ優秀なポスドク研究員を募集しています。採用者は、人間との安全かつ信頼性の高いインタラクションを実現するためのマルチモーダルAIシステムおよび評価フレームワークの開発に貢献していただきます。
主な研究分野：
・ 人間中心のAIおよび責任ある設計
・ 対話モデリングおよびインタラクティブエージェント
・ ヒューマン・ロボット・インタラクション
・ 画像、映像、テキスト、グラフを用いたマルチモーダル学習
・ 大規模言語モデル（LLM）における幻覚（ハルシネーション）の抑制
・ 推論や検索を支援する知識グラフ
・ 自然言語の理解と生成
主な業務および研究課題：
・ 複数のモダリティを通じて人間とインタラクション可能な知能システムの開発
・ AI出力の安全性・信頼性・人間の意図との整合性を評価するためのフレームワーク設計
・ LLMによる応答に含まれるハルシネーション、誤情報、バイアスの検出と対策
・ 構造化知識（例：グラフ）や記号的推論を活用したモデルの堅牢性と解釈性の向上
・ 異分野の研究者との連携による実世界応用に向けたエージェントの構築
・ AI／機械学習／自然言語処理分野のトップカンファレンスやジャーナルへの論文投稿 |

| 応募資格 |
Required:
・ Applicants must have obtained a Ph.D. within the last 7 years and must not have held a postdoctoral position for more than 5 years.
・ Demonstrated research achievements in one or more of the areas mentioned above.
・ Strong programming skills relevant to multimodal and conversational AI research.
・ A solid track record of publishing in peer-reviewed conferences or journals in related fields.
Preferred (one or more of the following):
・ Proficiency in Python.
・ Experience with deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow).
・ Experience with retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).
・ Experience with LLM agents and prompt engineering.
・ Experience with graph neural networks and/or graph embeddings.
・ Familiarity with managing large-scale datasets.
・ Background in dialogue management or conversational modeling.
・ Knowledge of one or more of the following areas: natural language processing (NLP), image or video data processing.
必須条件：
・ 博士号取得後7年以内であり、ポスドク研究員としての経験が5年未満であること。
・ 上記のいずれかの研究分野において優れた研究実績を有していること。
・ マルチモーダルAIおよび対話型AIに関連する高度なプログラミングスキルを有していること。
・ 関連分野における査読付き国際会議または学術誌への論文発表の実績があること。
歓迎されるスキル・経験（以下のいずれか）：
・ Pythonに精通していること。
・ 深層学習フレームワーク（例：PyTorch、TensorFlow）の使用経験。
・ 検索拡張生成（Retrieval-Augmented Generation, RAG）の開発経験。
・ LLMエージェントおよびプロンプト設計（Prompt Engineering）の実装経験。
・ グラフニューラルネットワークやグラフ埋め込み（Graph Embedding）の使用経験。
・ 大規模データセットの管理経験。
・ 対話管理や会話モデリングに関する実務経験。
・ 以下のいずれかの分野に関する知識：自然言語処理（NLP）、画像／映像データ処理。 |

ただし、研究所に初めて雇い入れられた日から雇用期間を通算して、5年を超えての更新は行わない。 |
