食健康機能研究グループ
研究概要
睡眠やストレス、認知機能、免疫機能の改善、生活習慣病やロコモティブシンドロームの予防を目指し、食品成分を中心とした天然化合物の健康機能性について研究を行っています。
ゲノム情報を利用した分子構造解析から、細胞を用いたバイオイメージング、動物モデル実験などをとおして、実用化に向けた橋渡し研究を担うことにより、国民の健康寿命の延伸に貢献したいと考えています。

研究課題1:時間栄養学を活用したアンチエイジング技術の開発

超高齢社会を迎えたわが国では、高齢者において深刻な問題となっている睡眠の乱れや認知機能の低下、サルコペニアやフレイルなどの予防や改善による健康寿命の延伸が重要な課題となっています。最近の研究から、加齢に伴うこれらの疾患の発症には体内時計が深くかかわっていることが明らかとなってきました。
私たちは、睡眠や体内時計の乱れによる精神疾患や生活習慣病の発症メカニズムの解明とともに、産学官の連携を積極的に推進することにより、食による睡眠や体内時計の積極的な制御技術の開発を目指した研究を行っています。

研究課題2:生活習慣病やこころの健康を維持するため天然化合物の探索

高齢化社会を迎える今、健康に人生を送るための助けになる機能性物質の開発は重要な研究課題である。そこで、様々な健康維持機能物質を探索するための発光イメージングを基盤としたバイオアッセイ系の開発、メタボリックシンドローム、アレルギー応答、メンタルシンドロームなどに効用のある機能物質の探索を進めています。

研究課題3:骨格筋の質・量を改善する食事療法の開発

骨格筋はヒトの体重の約40%を占める最大の臓器です。運動器として日々の生活活動を支えるのみならず、代謝や神経活動の調節も行います。したがって、わが国の重要な課題である健康寿命の延伸を実現するためには、骨格筋の質・量が重要な鍵を握ると考えられます。わたしたちは、機能性食品や時間栄養学を活用して骨格筋の質・量を改善しうる食事療法の開発を目指しています。
