Outline

 In order to keep quality of life in the aging society with fewer children, we must keep working force. Humanoid robot with human like shape is the best robot to work with our human or surrogate humans in social surroundings designed for us.

 The aim of Humanoid Research Group (HRG for short) is to contribute to the creation of new services with humanoid robots. HRG develops humanoid hardware with cooperation of several private companies and researches locomotion, manipulation, recognition, audition, dialogue, teaching and operation methods for humanoids. HRG also makes trials of new applications in contents and edutainment business as one of flagship robots of Cool Japan, makes demonstrations of hazardous works and towards human friendly humanoids that can serve humanity.
