RESEARCH
MATERIALS : The conversion efficiency of
thermoelectric device is well defined by material factor so called as
"thermoelectric figure-of-merit", Z = s S2/k,
ΚΚ s : electrical conductivity, S :
Seebeck Coefficient, k : Thermal Conductivity. Our
researches are focused on development of materials which have high
Z value and good understanding of the physics lying
behind them. Bulk material such as skutterudite compounds,
metal antimonide, chalcogenide, are current targets. An use of
artificial nano-structure is another theme to realize superior
thermoelectric materials.
DEVICES : Thermoelectric devices
specially developed for power generation is one main theme of our
group. To realize high durability and high efficiency, we test some
unique modules which uses liquid metal for its inter-connects.
ThermoPipe concept is another direction to realize practical
thermoelectric cell.
SYSTEM : Our group have been contributed some domestic projects which aims waste heat recovery by thermoelectric
