Combustion Control Group

Research is being conducted on the measurement and analysis of combustion, measurement and theoretical analysis of elementary reaction rate. In recent years, the realization of highly efficient combustion under reduced emission of harmful substances has been one of the most important issues in promoting environmental protection and the effective utilization of energy.

Polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins and dibenzofurans (PCDD/Fs) are mainly emitted from waste incinerators. To control such emissions, we have been investigating the formation mechanism of PCDD/Fs and their precursors such as polycyclic aromatic compounds.

We are also conducting investigations on the advanced combustion control and on the limit of combustion under the conditions of high temperature and lean. Researches on catalysts which can remove dioxins in fly ash and NOx in flue gas are also in progress.
