The geological disposal of radioactive wastes will be carried out at an appropriate disposal site, with isolation function of both the engineered barrier system at the subsurface depth of more than 300m, and the host rocks which ensure the safety of the disposal throughout long term.

We are carrying out the research on evaluation of the long-term geological stability of designated sites, and that on performance assessment of natural barrier system of the geological disposal.
