The AIST-RIKEN Joint Workshop on "Emergent Phenomena of Correlated Materials" will be held in March 4-7, 2009 at Bankoku Shinryokan in Okinawa Island, Japan. This is the opening activity of the "Forum on Correlated Materials Research between AIST and RIKEN". This workshop also includes a special session on spintronics supported by JST(Japan Science and Technology Agency). The purpose of this workshop is to promote the discussion and the international collaboration on the studies of emergent phenomena in correlated materials with the following focuses.
- Cross-correlated phenomena
- Ultrafast optical processes
- Theories and first-principles calculations
- Spintronics
- Interfaces and oxide electronics
- Molecular solids and electronics
- New superconductors
- Novel quantum phenomena
To stimulate intensive discussions, the number of participants will be limited to approximately 150 people, including 20 - 30 invited speakers. The program will be organized with sufficient time for discussions.
