Material Processing Team
The research team studies the processing technologies to fabricate novel materials of specific functions by controlling the nano size structure, space and particles. The processes include: 1) Continuous preparation process of inorganic nano particles by control the crystal growth in supercritical water, 2) Coating of ultra thin inorganic membrane by electroless plating or sol-gel process, 3) Hydrothermal process for inorganic synthesis and intercalation and self-assembling of layered clay minerals. A notable feature of our material processing is to use water as the environmentally low impact reaction medium. With respect to the material applications, we aim hydrogen separation by metallic membranes, organic reactions with nano particle catalysts, sensors, ion-exchangers and functionalized clay minerals as heat resistant sealant and gas-tight membranes.
These researches are being carried out in close collaboration with private enterprises and universities.
